Dell Axim X5
In the year of 2002, Dell Company expanded their market by launching the pocket PC Axim X5. It was definitely good news for everyone who thought that the other PDAs’ from different companies were too expensive. This cheap Dell Axim X5 PDA certainly has lower price but quality is better than its competitors in the market. The overall performance of this Pocket PC is basically good. It has basic software that regular PDAs have and Dell Axim X5 comes in two different models: basic and advanced. It is equipped with Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 Premium but it can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003. Furthermore, the basic type comes with 300 MHz Intel XScale PXA250 Processor with 32 MB RAM, while the advanced Axim X5 has 400 MHz Intel XScale Processor and 64 MB RAM. The Dell Axim X5 aluminum cases make this model ready for rugged use. The shape of this Axim X5 PDA is rather bulky. Compared to other pocket PC’s, Axim X5 has bigger size and is also heavier. It weighs 6.9 ounces and the size is 5 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches. With the bulky type, this pocket PC makes you easier to get a grip of it. |

Dell Axim X5 has a modern and metallic look. The navigation buttons on the front and side of this Dell Axim X5 PDA are easy to operate. You will get familiar with navigating through the system right away. The display screen is large and clear. The size of the display is 3.5 inches diagonally. You will also get a clear and clean view because Dell Axim X5 has 65,000 colors. Also, the pixel resolution is 320 x 240.
The Dell Axim X5 PDA battery’s life is really good. It lasts about 6-8 hours before you need to consider recharging it again. When you are working on Axim X5, you will never be concerned about loosing your data because it has a backup battery. In the cases, when your battery is low and suddenly the PDA goes off, your data will be automatically saved and when you turn on the Dell Axim X5 again, you will get your data again just like the last time you were working on it. For recording purposes, this Dell Axim X5 Handheld PDA is completed with a microphone. The sound system from the speaker is not bad at all. So you can listen again what you have recorded earlier from the speaker, which fortunately has a clear sound. A headset jack is also available if you want to listen to music or anything else without having to disturb other people around you.
