Motorola Q
Verizon Wireless customers have yet another luxury available to them in a smartphone version. The Motorola Q PDA has an unusually wide 320 x 240 display screen and a raised, angled QWERTY keyboard. There's a scroll wheel and button on the side, just like those on BlackBerry devices, and a five-way cursor pad above the keyboard, like the ones on Palm Pilot Treo handhelds. You can use both sets of keys for navigation, making the Motorola Q unusually convenient to use with a single hand. The reception for the Motorola Q comes close to the excellent quality produced by RAZR V3c and Motorola E815. Your will find the sound exceptionally crisp and audible through the earpiece, speakerphone, and Bluetooth headsets, with almost perfect transmission. VoiceSignal's voice-dialing application, which works over Bluetooth headsets, gives you the true experience of modern audio technology. The Motorola Q PDA battery is a lithium ion battery which is rechargeable and easily replaceable. Battery life stands at 5 hours 25 minutes of continuous talk time and this is comparable with the Palm Pilot Treo 700p. With Bluetooth capabilities, the Motorola Q handheld PDA is an excellent tool for playing music. As a Windows Mobile Smartphone, the Motorola Q plays MP3 and WMA files downloaded from online music stores. The basic POP3/IMAP e-mail client on the Motorola Q supports up to eight accounts, which is a capability found only in the best PDAs. E-mail and Web pages download swiftly over Verizon Wireless's Broadband Access EV-DO network so that you can perform your computing tasks anywhere you go |

To read attachments, the Motorola Q comes with the Picsel Viewer application, which is excellent at displaying even complex Microsoft Office documents and PDFs. However, you can't edit the documents you view. There's plenty of room for additional programs in the Motorola Q's 49MB of built-in storage. All in all, this is great little gadget good for all kinds of uses. The Motorola Q PDA aluminum case can be purchased separately from any Verizon Wireless Dealer. If you plan to travel frequently, especially when your Motorola Q handheld PDA may go through some wear and tear, it will be wise to purchase one for added protection.
Due to the excellent quality and extensive functionalities, cheap Motorola Q PDA is hard to come by. Most average around $300, but then you must sign a commitment with Verizon and purchase a certain amount of minutes per month. You may be able to find a discount Motorola Q PDA by scouting internet sites, looking for sales and special offers. The Motorola Q is one of the best PDAs available in the market, and despite its price, it will give you performance that is well worth your investment. |
