PDA Brands
If you are in the market for a little handheld computer, you know that while just a few short years ago the market seemed to be dominated by a couple of well-known brands of PDAs, the market has now become swamped with a wide variety of PDA brands. Some of them are quite famous and almost anyone knows their names, while others a bit less recognizable unless you have truly done your homework and spend a bit of time researching the different PDA brands.
Generally speaking, there is a different brand of PDA for different applications. While most all will give you the options of math calculations, a functional clock and calendar, as well as the opportunity to check e-mail, play exciting games, and also do some document preparation, certain PDA brands have specialized in such a manner that they supply niche programming options to medical, legal and other business professionals who utilize their handheld computers within the confines of their jobs. Very often the question arises if the cheap PDA brands are as good as their more expensive cousins. While obviously nobody will be able to judge which the best PDA brand is, it is important to realize that not every PDA is created equal. In a very real sense you get what you pay for and unless you have highly specialized computing needs, the discount PDA brands are probably just as good as some of the more expensive ones

As you are researching your PDA brands, you will most likely hear the name Blackberry. This little device has enjoyed such a large following that many have considered it to be at the top of the PDA brands even though aficionados of the Dell Axim, HP’s iPAQ Pocket PC, and Palms. Of course, there are a large number of other devices that are currently available for sale as well as a number of makes and models that have been discontinued – either because the market reaction was less than positive or simply because a newer and better model came along that made the older ones obsolete. Additionally, within the industry there were a lot of shifts that became obvious early on, and some companies merged or were bought out, thus causing the demise of certain models that simply did not show enough profitability to keep the line running under the new management. Advertising campaigns always focus on the higher end models, and thus at times some brands tend to phase out the lesser models.
